Demand & Supply

Boring Moorings. How much demand exists for leisure boating facilities in Kings Lynn? Tough call. For sure there are very few leisure craft based here, but facilities are currently non-existent....a few swinging moorings by the Cut Bridges There are a few swinging moorings by the Cut Bridges, but nowhere secure or convenient to store and launch tenders. The Great Ouse Boating Association maintains 3 visitors berths on the east side above the Nar outfall, and the Denver Cruising Club a couple, (which don't seem to be visible.)
The 2007 'Final' Masterplan referred to studies of possible demand, but without any detail of either method or result.

Marinas at Wisbech and Fosdyke have found a clientele so perhaps a facility at Kings Lynn could do the same: where potential berth-holders are most likely to come from is discussed further in the 'Inward or outward?' page. Demand is a crucial issue. It's amazing (and a bit worrying) that no proper survey of demand seems to have been carried out.
